Hi, I’m Georgie.
Thanks for visiting, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a mother, a partner, a daughter and a Doula.
Falling pregnant and preparing for a baby is an exciting, and often overwhelming time, and there is so much information about pregnancy and birth out there for parents to read, and courses to complete.
But, have you stopped to consider what comes next?
I am a trained Birth & Postpartum Doula through the Australian Doula College in Sydney. I am a trained accidental counsellor through Lifeline, I hold a current working with vulnerable people card, certificates in first aid, mental heath first aid, and baby sleep & settling techniques.
I gave birth to my little boy during the Covid 19 pandemic. With the world in lockdown, birth classes canceled, and essential support stripped from the birth & postpartum environment, my experience was far from what I had envisioned. It left me feeling very isolated as a new parent.
I’ve always had a passion caring for families with newborns, long before I started my journey to become a Doula. I spent years supporting friends in the transition from maiden to mother and when I became a mother myself, it solidified my commitment to becoming a Doula.
I'm captivated by the intricacies of the human body, pregnancy, and birth. However I’ve observed a serious gap in our healthcare systems for postpartum education, support & care. Postpartum is a time of amazing intensity and adjustment and it deserves as much care and attention as pregnancy and birth, it not more. In my opinion, birth is just the beginning!
I provide family-centred care, ensuring dads and partners also feel supported in this transition. It’s my mission to relieve some of the pressures of new parenthood. I will offer a friendly helping hand, provide guidance and empower you to trust in your own abilities.
I am honoured to be invited into a family’s home to care for them in such an intimate, personal time as postpartum. It’s a joyful feeling to know that I am making a difference in my community, and I welcome the opportunity to chat to you about how I can support you.
Thank you for playing an integral role in such an empowering birth & postpartum. You are the doula every woman deserves.
